In Philippines, when prices of fast growing timber trees were high, many smallholders engaged in tree farming. Although in recent years a price decline due to market saturation has made tree farming less profitable, farmers are still interested in tree farming. to provide farmers with information based on empirical farm data, the profitability of two agroforestry systems with fast-growing timber trees and maize farming was investigated in northern Mindanao, Philippines.
