This is the 9th report of the USAID/ICRAF Cooperative Agree­ment. Project No. 936-5545, for the period October-December, 1984. According to the three year agreement which became effective as of I September 1982, ICRAF receives support from USAID for three projects of ICRAF's Programme of Work. These are: * Agroforestry Training * Diagnostic and Design Methodology Development and * Agroforestry Systems Inventory The respective project leaders prepared the attached progress reports for the three projects. The third ICRAF/USAID Agro­forestry Course was held in October in Malaysia and the second CRAF/USAID Course report was written and disseminated. Further conceptualization, documentation and dissemination of the D&D methodology through training and participation of ICRAF staff in international meetings added an important dimen­sion to the development process of the D&D. The data evalua­tion phase of the Systems Inventory Project is ongoing; several methods for computer coding of data were tried and analyzed systems data is being coded and stored on the IBM PC micro­ computers.
