AB Good procedure for seed collection, handling and storageis important whether the seed is destined for researchpurposes or for dissemination by afforestation programmes.Careful selection of parent trees can reduce the likelihoodof inbreeding and thus maintain a greater degree of geneticdiversity. Appropriate handling and storage can prolong significantly the viability of the seed and maxiniize germinationrates.
