Mountainous area of the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) are one of global focal points for research and development programs conducted by the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF), as well as for research activities conducted under the CGIAR system-wide Alternatives to Slash and Burn (ASB) Initiative.
