Local Government Initiatives to Climate Change Adaptation: A Case Study Of Albay, Philippines

The province of Albay has been exposed to climate hazards such as tropical cyclones. Aggravated by natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, flash floods and mudslides, the lives of the Albayanons are highly at risk. The coastal areas are also exposed to sea level rise and storm surges. Communities living along the coastline and in the uplands must be prepared to meet the challenges to their environment, livelihood, and homes. These could worsen as a result of climate change.
