• Community-based adaptation (CBA) interventions work within highly heterogeneous communities with varying vulnerabilities, social status and preferences, and these aect the way CBA inter-ventions are viewed, perceived and adopted by communities. • CBA interventions being implemented in various contexts are ei-ther locally led or externally introduced and adapted to local sys-tems.• While CBA initiatives should be community led e.g. bottom-up processes, these initiatives can immensely benet from broader policy contexts and external technological and nancial support. • Eective implementation of CBA initiatives needs supportive pol-icies, strong technical and nancial support, choice of right prac-tices, better access to climate information and proper governance.
