Demand for exotic tropical and subtropical fruits is on the increase in developed countries. In tandem with the growing popularity of organically produced foods among consumers who want to enjoy healthier lifestyles. The demand is creating new market opportunities for farmers and businesses around the world. Experience from Uganda and Burkina Faso shows that the demand for dried fruit cannot be satisfied at current levels of production.
