Developing and webbing local extension capacities for improved upland farming: experiences in southern Mindanao

This paper describes the development of a local extension team that promotes sustainable upland farming with social resposibility. The aim is to provide farmers with information and technology and, at the same time, mobilise them to address the urgent need to reverse the effects of destructive cultivation in sloping lands by adopting sustainable practices and taking responsibility in timely dissemination and adoption of the same.
