AB Agroforestry systems/technologies are long-term in nature because of the tree component present in each system. To compare future net benefits with present-day net benefits, analysts usually assign a lower weight to such future values. This procedure of revaluing future costs and benefits is normally referred to as discounting, while the rate at which future costs and benefits are revalued is referred to as the discount rate.
