The vegetative propagation of the multipurpose leguminous shrub Colutea arborescens from leafless hardwood cuttings was examined. Specific attention was on the following factors: cutting origin; indole-butyric acid (IBA) treatment; and relative humidity of the propagation environment. After 120 days, 67.6% of the cuttings had rooted. The rooting ability of the cuttings was significantly influenced by the origin of the cuttings and hormonal treatment. The relative humidity of the propagation environment did not have much effect on the rooting ability.
