CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Change and constancy: an analysis of publications in Agroforestry Systems vol. 1-10

These 10 volumes, covering 8 years (1982–90) contain 201 articles (plus 12 review articles in a Special Issue). The main changes over the period have been declines in the number of methodological discussions and agroforestry system descriptions, and an increase in experimental results. Rotational, spatial mixed and spatial zoned systems are all well-represented, and silvopastoral systems have been of continuing interest. Africa, Asia and Central/South America are almost equally represented.
