CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Gender Analysis of the PATSPO II project

A Gender Analysis (GA) is used to identify, understand, and describe gendered differences and the relevance of gendered roles, responsibilities, restrictions, needs, aspirations, and power dynamics in a particular context. The objective of a GA is to provide recommendations for change, based on locally captured priorities and human rights. Beside the focus on gender, it is important to assess the intersectional aspects of discrimination (inter alia age, disability, ethnicity, religion, class), as neither women nor men form a 9 homogeneous group. A GA aims to desilence the marginalised, and to capture specific gendered perceptions relating to a project (Rutazibwa, 2018)
