CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Wild Foods Make Diets Healthier

The wild foods flyer was designed to inform the reader about the nutritional value of wild foods. The overall objective for this is to increase awareness and the appreciation of wild foods and their contribution to making diets healthier. The flyer also gives brief nutrition information about some key wild foods (sampled from the different food portfolios from the 8 chiefdoms in which the project is being implemented). The nutrition information is from evidence provided in research articles published in peer-reviewed journals.
