Rwanda, as the first African country in 2011 to declare an ambitious land restoration target of 2 million hectares of degraded land by 2030 under the Bonn Challenge and the African Forest landscape Restoration Initiative (AFR100), has recognised agroforestry as a key approach to achieve this goal.
