The potential of agroforestry to enhance Land Degradation Neutrality

Since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda in 2015, Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) embodies targets set by countries to conserve, sustainably manage and restore land designated within their land use planning agenda. LDN has been identified as an important pathway for securing sustainable global development, with targets implemented at local, national and regional scales, to propel comprehensive national, institutional and corporate strategies that embrace complementary activities. These can include the adoption of sustainable land management and holistic land-use planning, the rehabilitation of degraded land for production, as well as the restoration of natural and semi-natural ecosystems that provide valuable functions and benefits.
