CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Probabilistic Causal Models for Nutrition Outcomes of Agricultural Actions - Uganda model

This dataset contains a Bayesian Network (BN) decision model of the expected impact of the long term development agenda of the Ugandan National Planning Authority (Vision 2040) on the nutritional status of households in Uganda. The model was developed using expert knowledge elicited through a facilitated process. The model compares the household-level nutrient supply through smallholder homegarden production vs. the industrial agricultural systems proposed in Vision 2040. It includes 29 main variables, describing the impact pathway from the decision to implement Vision 2040 to household nutrition.
