Awa Sillah is the Programme Coordinator of The Large-Scale Ecosystem based Adaptation Project – The Gambia, under the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources. Prior to this, she worked for The Gambia Revenue Authority and the United Nations World Food Program as Senior Human Development Officer and Field Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Respectively. She has over fifteen years’ experience in women empowerment, leadership development, climate change and public-sector management. Aside from her professional work engagement, she offers career development and mentorship to her community especially youths and women on entrepreneurship, leadership, education, and healthcare.
In her current work with national and international stakeholders, she is implementing ecosystem-based adaptation and climate change policies and strategies that is addressing the severe impact of climate change, building resilient and enhancing the adaptative capacity of rural communities in The Gambia.
