Adam Gerrand is an international forestry expert with over 30 years work experience in forestry.
- In Australia he worked for both State and National government agencies including the Manager of the Australian National Forest Inventory from 2001-07 including a co-author of Australia’s State of the Forests Report.
- Since 2008 worked at FAO, firstly coordinating the Global Forest Remote Sensing Survey to develop new estimates of global deforestation rates.
- From 2012 he worked with FAO UN-REDD on reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation (REDD+) supporting developing countries to improve their National Forest Monitoring Systems.
- Since 2018 he moved to Jakarta to support to Indonesia with their National Forest Monitoring Systems including forest inventory and remote sensing for forest and peatland monitoring.
