CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Replication Data for: International dataset on REDD+ projects 2020 with supplementary data on carbon accounting

The dataset was developed in 2021 by combining two sources of data: (1) selected variables from publicly available data in the international REDD+ project database v.4.1 (ID-RECCO), available from reddprojectsdatabase.org (Simonet G., Atmadja, S., Agrawal A., Bénédet F., Cromberg M., de Perthuis C., Haggard D., Jansen N., Karsenty A., Liang W., Morel, A., Newton P., Sales A-M, Satwika, A., Schaap B., Seyller C., Silviana, V., Vaillant G., (2020) ID-RECCO, International Database on REDD+ projects and programs: Linking Economics, Carbon and Communities. version 4.1 https://www.reddprojectsdatabase.org); and (2) adding on additional variables on carbon accounting for ongoing projects listed in IDRECCO. Some of the additional variables were collected only in Colombia, Indonesia and Peru. Overall, the dataset contained 377 ongoing REDD+ project globally in 56 countries. The dataset identifies and characterizes REDD+ projects across 59 variables on several aspects of REDD+ projects: general features of the project, carbon certification, carbon accounting, and emission reductions. In the dataset, variable 1-22 were extracted from ID-RECCO v4.1 (available online: https://www.reddprojectsdatabase.org/view/databaselogin.php). Whereas, variable 23-59 were collected by the authors.
