Susan is the Global Communications Coordinator at CIFOR-ICRAF and is based at the headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. She works with communication teams based in Africa, Asia and Latin America to plan and execute communication activities in line with the overall institutional communications strategy and priorities. She manages CIFOR-ICRAF’s participation at major international events and coordinates communications services required for these events. She works closely with research and project teams to promote research through campaigns and events. Over the years, she has led communication components of donor-funded projects by developing and implementing strategies, managing content for project websites and ensuring visibility of the projects through media coverage, blogging, social media and contributing to overall project reports. She previously worked in the development and humanitarian sectors covering countries in east, horn and southern Africa. Susan holds an MA in communication studies and a BA in English.
