Musa Ibrahim is a passionate Environmentalist, Land Hero of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification ‘UNCCD’ and a graduate of Geography and Environmental Management with Msc in view on Biogeography. He is the founder of Voice for Environment, State Representative of Eleven Eleven Twelve Foundation ‘EETF’ and a Young digital activist with Climate and Sustainable Development Network of Nigeria ‘CSDevNet’. Through these various platforms, he has been able carry out massive digital advocacy, participated in numerous high level dialogues on environment/Development and has executed projects in grassroot communities such as Tree planting, School advocacy program, Seminars, Green hangouts, Clean up, documentaries amongst others. He is focused on providing solutions to the issues of Desertification, Land Degradation, Drought, Disaster, Poverty , Food insecurity and youth inclusions in the realization of the SDGs.
In 2021 he was selected as GLF social media ambassador, in May – 2022 he attended the UNCCD COP15 in Abidjan where he emphasized on the role of youths in meeting the ambitious targets of the Great Green Wall. He was also nominated in November 2022 as a delegate to represent Nigeria at the First Edition of the Pan African agency For the Great Green Wall Youth Green Caravan held in Senegal, Mauritania and Mali covering a distance of more than 3000km across the African Sahel region to learn and see how these countries are addressing the issues of Desertification, Drought, Biodiversity Loss and Food Insecurity. He was recently named as a NAGGW Champion by the National Agency for the Great Green Wall upon his arrival from the Youth Green Caravan. Through research and social media engagements he has developed his knowledge and understanding of the various activities and stakeholders within the environment, climate and development space spanning from Local, National to International levels. He also contributed immensely to the development of the Concept Note and Work Plan of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall Youth Volunteers Program which seeks to provide robust volunteering opportunities for more than 11,000 young people to be actively involved in the projects and activities of the agency.
Consequently, he is enthusiastic to constantly develop his capacity to be able to design and influence policy/systems capable of advancing sustainable development.
