Damayanti Buchori

Damayanti Buchori is the Director of the Center for Transdisciplinary and Sustainability Sciences (CTSS), IPB University and a Professor at the Department of Plant Protection, IPB University.

An insect ecologist by training, her work spans teaching, research, and community empowerment along with various activities in international stages on sustainability issues. Damayanti has focused her research on agriculture-conservation and sustainability issues ranging from pest management, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and land use change. Her interest currently includes science-policy work. Damayanti is also active on many international platforms. She was a member of Task Force 7 of the Millenium Development Goal (MDG)- United Nations, and one of the lead authors for IPBES on Pollinators, Pollination and Food Production assessment. In 2022 she was appointed as Lead Co-Chair for Task Force 4 on Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture, for the T20 -Indonesia engagement group.
