Fostering National Actions: Strengthening Ambitions of National Contributions to Climate and Biodiversity for Agriculture and Food Systems
Organized by the Alliance of Bioversity International - CIAT, FAO, UNEP, and WWF International, the event will address the challenges of aligning policies and measures to achieve progress towards the NDCs and the Paris Agreement food-related targets while also meeting the Biodiversity and Land Convention targets.
This session will also address the challenges aligning biodiversity preservation, climate action, and land conservation actions within the realm of agriculture and food security at the national level. An interactive web-based guidance tool to integrate agriculture and food systems in Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) developed by WWF, FAO, UNEP, Alliance of Bioversity International - CIAT and partners, will be launched. Policymakers, practitioners, and investors will be able to use the guidance tool to identify relevant policy options and measures to make progress towards the NDCs and the Paris Agreement food-related targets while also achieving the Biodiversity and Land Convention targets.
