Purpose
- Highlighting the importance of global forest cooperation through REDD+ under the Paris Agreement and sharing international efforts and case studies of REDD+ implementation.
- Discussing measures to activate REDD+ projects within the Paris Agreement framework to achieve national greenhouse gas reduction targets (NDCs).
- Deliberating on the role and significance of tropical carbon sinks as key carbon reservoirs in the era of the climate crisis.
- Discussing the necessity and introduction of the “REDD+ Operating Standard” for the activation of REDD+ in Korea.
