Curriculum for in-service training in agroforestry and related subjects in Kenya

The objective of the in-service training programme is to impart additional knowledge on agroforestry to various cadres of agricultural, livestock, forestry and other extension officers to enable them to assist farmers in the adoption of improved agroforestry practices and in achieving the multiple benefits of food, cash, fodder and forest products while at the same time conserving the productive natural resource base. The ultimate aim is to train all agricultural, livestock, forestry and non-governmental organization extension staff and other leaders including chiefs and elders. Priority will initially be given to agricultural, livestock and forestry extension workers at headquarter, provincial, district and divisional level who will in turn train frontline extension staff. The content of this volume consists of 12 main blocks of curricula for training in agroforestry and related subjects. The training in each block has been further divided into units indicating topics, objectives, contents, method of delivery and training material required.
