Science needs clear communication channels to cut through the noise, if research is to have any impact. CIFOR-ICRAF is as passionate about sharing our knowledge as we are in generating it.
CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests,
landscapes, people and the planet.
We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and
restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short,
improving people’s lives.
Food Systems Transformation: A Worldwide Response to Multiple Crises
Global Forum for Food and Agriculture 2023
18 - 21 Jan 2023, Berlin
The Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA2023) will feature several events that bring together experts from the worlds of politics, business, science and civil society to address and reach consensus on issues and challenges relating to global agricultural policy and food security.
Food systems in crises – solutions for more resilience
The world is facing a major food crisis, with millions at risk of worsening hunger. Humanitarian aid is not enough. We need to respond jointly and at scale to the drivers of this crisis: conflict, climate shocks, and the threats of a global recession.
Speakers at this panel, convened by the United Nations World Food Programme, will demonstrate approaches that holistically address food systems challenges. They will deliberate on solutions to create crisis-proof and climate-friendly systems with an emphasis on sustainable land use and the role of soils. The discussion will focus on inclusive, non-discriminatory, and localized solutions that highlight the crucial role of women within food systems.
