CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

The future of land monitoring – technologies, trends, transparency?

In this international scientific workshop, we aim to shed light on ongoing developments and trends, that are likely to shape transparent monitoring approaches for assessing land use dynamics in the future. This includes e.g.:

  1. consolidating global GHG estimates and national reporting and accounting
  2. recent advancements in the field of earth observation and data technology
  3. community/participatory monitoring and digitalization

We invite scientists, policy makers, representatives from local communities and indigenous peoples, data users and data providers to join the workshop.
