Erizal Sodikin is a Program Manager with the Center of Excellence for Peatland Conservation and Productivity Improvement (CoE-PLACE) and also an Associate Professor in the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, South Sumatra, Indonesia with 25 years’ experience in lecturing and research relating to weed ecology and crop production in the tropics, especially related to perennial crops. In the last five years he has been active in peatland restoration in South Sumatra through a farming and paludiculture approach. He also has research interests in producing biomass for energy production on degraded lands and peatlands. He is a Doctor of Agriculture from the University of Kassel in Germany and was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bonn.
