Dina Rasquinha is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Geography & Integrative Conservation Program at the University of Georgia. Her research focuses on blue carbon discourses related to mangrove ecosystems in the Indian subcontinent. She combines ethnographic fieldwork with the analyses of remote sensing data, and modelling to understand how mangrove vegetation dynamics, gender relations, and historical legacies of use, influence politics of conservation in protected areas on the east coast of India.
