From 1999 to 2004, RELMA – the Regional Land Management Unit of Sida – worked closely with the Luo community on the Lake Victoria coast in Nyando District. The community, known as Kusa, was among the hardest hit by the blockage of Nyakach bay fishing beaches by water hyacinth. The Kusa Experience tells the story of how the project began. It records the unconventional learning approach taken to discover solutions to the most pressing problems.
