Members of the COLANDS initiative joined with key stakeholders in Ghana’s Western Wildlife Corridor for a workshop 12-13 April 2022 in Bolgatanga, Ghana, to share experiences and knowledge in landscape management, engaging stakeholders in a landscape approach to shea landscape management, and assessing capacity and identifying capacity building needs.
Participants included traditional chiefs, representatives from government and non-governmental organizations, community groups, district assemblies, research organizations, and the private sector.
Discussions included how best to facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue to benefit actors across multiple sectors and decision-making scales, raising awareness of the value of biological diversity in complex landscapes to inform national policies, and empowering marginalized groups to effectively participate in decision-making processes.
