Jack Clemons

Trustee
Jack Clemons has been a Trustee and Chair of the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee of the Global WWF Board since 2017. He has also been a Non-Executive member of the Board of Directors and member of the Audit Committee of DKSH since 2019, a Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of the Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV) since 2016, and a Strategic Advisor to Unit8, the leading Swiss based Data Management & Artificial Intelligence company since 2022.

From 2006 until 2015, Jack led the Bata Group, a global manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer of footwear and accessories, as Group CEO and previously as Group CFO. Bata has substantial supply chain and sales operations throughout Asia, Africa and Latin America. Bata is the N° 1 global manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer of footwear and accessories, employing 30,000 people, operating in 90 countries with 25 factories and 5,500 retail outlets. During this time Bata developed new approaches to work closely with and improve sustainably the communities in which it operates.

Before joining Bata, Jack founded an international consulting business operating in Europe and the US and was previously COO and CFO at Firstream (a private-equity backed technology group).

Earlier Jack was a partner at Deloitte in France and the US where he led Deloitte’s European Technology Group, providing assurance and consulting services to technology-driven companies across Europe. He has a deep knowledge of internal controls, assurance and governance, notably in complex international environments.

Prior to that Jack worked for the Australian Trust for Conservation in National Parks across Southern and Eastern Australia.

Formal education

Jack holds a Master’s degree with honours in Geography from Cambridge University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He also has an MBA from INSEAD, France.

Jack lives in Switzerland with his wife and three children.
