His research largely focuses on the coastal and marine ecosystems, particularly mangroves and seagrasses. His research has significantly contributed to understanding the mangrove response and recovery after the 2004 tsunami and sea level change caused by coastal uplift and subsidence across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
