Steeve Ngama

Steeve Ngama is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Liège (Belgium). He is also leading a research programme on wildlife and sustainable development at IRAF-CENAREST in Gabon. He is a member of the African Elephant Specialist Group (AfESG-IUCN) and of the Gabonese organic agriculture and ecological NGO, SCOOPS-ELABE. He holds a PhD in Agronomic Sciences and Biological Engineering with a focus on organic agriculture, biodiversity and wildlife conservation. He is dedicated to mitigating human wildlife conflicts and has implemented research activities on sustainable development, wildlife conservation and human elephant conflict mitigation for more than fifteen years. He conducted several research activities on improving forest elephant conservation by using the integrative approaches of ecophysiology while collaborating with numerous institutions such as the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (USA) and the University of Liège where he was awarded his PhD.
