The Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) is an innovative voluntary partnership established in 2001 with the aim of helping to enhance the contribution of forests and trees to global goals, including the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Its mission is to promote and strengthen long-term political commitment to the sustainable management of all types of forests.
CPF members include 16 international organizations and secretariats with substantial programmes on forests. By pooling resources and sharing expertise, members streamline their work to improve the management and conservation of forests and the production and trade of forest products.
The CPF supports the work of United Nations Forum on Forests and its member countries, provides on-demand scientific and technical advice to the Forum and governing bodies of other CPF members, fosters cooperation and policy and programme coordination at all levels, and promotes the implementation of the UN Forest Instrument and the United Nations Strategic Plan for Forests, the contribution of forests and trees to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and other major forest-related agreements.
