Keshab Adhikari, resident of Kathmandu has dedicated more than three decades in research and extension, coordination and management in agriculture sector, horticulture and agroforestry. He joined the South Asia Regional Program (SARP) as a Liaison Scientist for Nepal in June 2020, after contributing to the Ministry of Agriculture, Nepal where he served in various positions, including as Focal Point for Agroforestry. Adhikari has been collaborating with ICRAF since 2014 when the activities of SARP started in Nepal. During his term as Horticulture Expert and Focal Point for Agroforestry, ICRAF and IMCC (Inter Ministerial Coordination Committee) with the CTCN assistant implemented many joint activities on policy aspects of agroforestry, leading to the National Agroforestry Policy, 2019. Nepal is the second country in the world to have such a policy, after India. As one of the leading experts, he played an important role in the development of the agroforestry policy and his expertise in agroforestry policy initiatives extends to other countries as well.
