Pioneering Sustainable Cacao Roadmap in Davao de Oro | SFITAL Project in the Philippines

Davao de Oro, the Philippines’ top cacao producer, faced challenges like climate change, pests, low productivity, and market inefficiencies. To address these, the Sustainable Farming in Tropical Asian Landscapes (#SFITAL) Project partnered with the Davao de Oro Provincial Government and other local stakeholders to develop the Sustainable Cacao Roadmap for 2025–2030, with a vision for 2050. This roadmap, officially launched in January 2024, aims to empower small-scale cacao farmers, enhance value chains, and promote sustainable practices to secure the future of the industry.
