CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

This document summarizes CARE's approach to empowering women in agricultural systems at scale. CARE promotes innovative solutions for sustainable development through essential services, capacity building, risk reduction, and empowering vulnerable groups, particularly women and girls. Their framework focuses on a woman's aspirations, capabilities, power relations, and environment. They use a pathways approach through gender integration in empowerment interventions like women's empowerment programs, engaging men and boys, and collective groups. Farmer field and business schools are used as a learning approach covering sustainable agriculture, markets, nutrition, gender, and monitoring to move along a gender continuum from exploitative to accommodating to transformative approaches.
