The year under review was characterized by two main features, viz. i. intensive planning and preparation of ICRAF's new five-year programme of work for 1986 - 1990, based on the recommendations of the External Review Panel; and ii. many of ICRAF's key programmes and projects over the last four years entered their final stages. As expected, the Board of Trustees at its meeting in March approved the report of the External Review Panel. The three main recommendations of the Panel were:
