Tropical almond (Terminalia catappa L.) is a native species os Southeast Asia. It is presently found in many countries of the tropics, including northern Australia, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and many other south Asian countries. It is commonly used as a shade tree in Sri Lanka and India due to its shape with long horizontal branches and large leaves.
